Wait for the Lord

“Wait for the Lord, be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.” Psalm 27:14

As I take in the view, I see the ocean. As I sit awhile longer and still my heart, I begin to see the details. The waves crashing on rocks. A boat in the distance. The breeze blowing the plants. Birds flying in and out of the scene before me. I’m peeling back the big view until I’m aware of the layers of what I’m experiencing.

Time with God is like that. I sit down and bring to Him the big picture, then as I sit and listen or have a conversation or read His Word, I begin to see the details of what’s really before me. God is in the details, as well as the big picture.

Come to Him often to sit and listen. He will be there. In His time, I will hear what He’s saying to me.

The black bird that’s been flying in and out of my view came close enough for me to see his red beak.

Wait for the Lord.

Lord, help me to bring to you all that is on my heart and be still so I can hear you. Teach me how to wait for you, to be strong, take heart and wait for the details to come into view. Your details, your plans. In your time.
