Power in the Promises of God
Yet he [Abraham] did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God being fully persuaded that God had power to do what He had promised. Romans 4:20
Against all hope (v18), Abraham believed His God. He did not waver in his belief. In fact, his faith was strengthened, and he glorified God as he waited. How could he do that? He believed in the power of God and His promises.
Where is my hope today? In myself and my abilities, in others, in the “system”?
Abraham knew that only God could change the fact that he was 100 years old and still waiting on the promise that he and Sarai would be parents. Not only parents but the “father of nations”. He believed in the promise – not knowing when and how.
Do I know God’s promises? Do you?
You can open God’s Word today and seek His promises. Put a “P” next to those verses for easy reference. Study them and most of all…claim them for yourself. God’s promises for you. God has the power to do what He has promised.
Thank you, God that you are a faithful God. In the midst of my doubt, I can turn to you and against all hope, put my trust in you.
