In His Name

And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him. Colossians 3:17

Name dropping. We have all done it at some time. Come on…you know you have. Someone higher up, someone you are representing. The higher up the better. I am asking in their higher authority, or I want you to trust me based on someone’s reputation. It usually worked for me.

Now picture all that you do or say, you are doing in the name of Jesus. He is your authority. He is who you are representing. You are His ambassador. Not to name drop like the Pharisees and Sadducees did for God, but from a place of a humble, loving heart to Jesus. I represent Christ to those who need to see Him.

What are others saying? Am I doing it all in the name of Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him (Jesus)? Are my words representing the Jesus who gave it all for me?

Whatever I do or say. Every day. Every situation. Glorify God.

God, thank you for this reminder that others see my words and actions. May I know you and help others to see you…not me.
