Establish my Steps

“In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.” Proverbs 16:9 NIV

Early in January, I do two things: Calendar my plans for the year and create a long list of projects to complete this year. You may say, how do you know what you are going to do so far in advance? Are you crazy? I am just “planning my course” in human terms. I also put the information in pencil…room for change. Lots of change. These entries are my course.

Then as I give myself to God and His will in my life, “the Lord establishes their (my) steps”. How wonderful to see where God wants me to go, what He wants me to do. Life is full of changes to my plans, and that’s a good thing when God is in charge. My ultimate plan is to go be a blessing to others and glorifying God. How? Where? When? Only God knows.

Thank you, God, for establishing your steps in my life and changing my plans as you do so often. I’m so excited to see what your will in my life will look like.
